Seth Green Got His Ape Back & Major Update!
Hey there readers, cheers for joining us for our 10th newsletter! It's been a rough couple of weeks in the crypto markets, although NFTs are still innovating forward. Before we get into today's articles, Morning NFTea has a couple updates!
As of today, we have officially launched a new landing page / website: Morning NFTea
As you can see above, we have a new landing page alongside a few new tabs. The most important tab for our readers will be "Write-Ups" as we will break down specific projects 1 by 1 in this section. These will be in-depth breakdowns where we cover project economics, roadmaps, announcements, and more. Aside from that, this website will make it easier to grow our family of happy subscribers.
More to come on this, but in the meantime let's get into this weeks edition of Morning NFTea!
Billboard Hot 100

Billboard magazine was founded way back in 1894 and is now taking a step into the future. Through tracking the most popular albums and songs, Billboard has become the official scoreboard for music charts. With their digital collectible platform called 'CHARTSTARS' and a partnership with Universal Music Group, they are about to launch the ‘Hot 100 Pass’ which is a utility-focused exclusive benefits program for members of the Billboard ChartStars community. Users will have access to events, concert tickets, special collections, and more from the hottest Billboard events. The drop will be powered by Unblocked, which uses NFTs to link brands and artists with bespoke experiences for their fans. The pass is built on the Flow blockchain, which focuses on reduced energy use. This release will consist of 199 Gold tier passes at $49, 9 Platinum at $399, and 3 Diamond passes at $1999. NFTs have allowed many musicians and brands to take larger ownership of their work, and it is clear that Billboard wants a piece of the action as well.
Bored Ape Return

A few weeks ago we wrote about the popular actor Seth Green, and the TV show revolving around his Bored Ape #8398. Unfortunately, the Ape got stolen due to a phishing scam and Seth had to halt production of his show. Well now, Seth has just re-purchased his #8398 ape from Mr. Cheese for 65eth/$297,000, or about $100k more than Mr. Cheese had purchased it for less than a month ago. Seth initially threatened to sue Mr. Cheese if he didn't return the ape, but Mr. Cheese had confidence nothing could be done as he had ‘bought it in good faith’. As the ape had a ‘suspicious activity’ label on OpenSea which halted any sale, a deal had to be done through NFT Trader. Not a bad outcome for Mr. Cheese selling for a profit considering the Bored Ape Yacht Club floor price has just dropped to its lowest floor price in 10 months (around $87,000). Now that Seth has ownership of his precious Bored Ape IP, the plans for his halted TV show 'White Horse Tavern' can recommence.
Stranger Things Minigame

The Season 4 launch of the Netflix show Stranger Things marked Netflix's biggest premiere weekend, and after a week it has become Netflix's third most popular English-language TV season ever. A partnership with NFT platform Candy Digital has recently seen the release of a minigame for Netflix where players must solve riddles to earn NFTs. There are 11,111 unique tokens available to holders, and last week about 4,700 players earned a free NFT poster. A token hunting minigame is one example of how Web3.0 allows companies to have more creative ways of connecting with their communities through NFTs, and it is great to see a Web2.0 titan like Netflix start to experiment and use NFTs in more ways than what is typically done.
The launch of .blockchain

We have recently seen the rise of ENS NFTs, the Ethereum Name Service is a domain name provider for the Ethereum blockchain, allowing unique blockchain-based tokens to be used as simple readable alternatives to the normal 42-character Ethereum wallet address. Speculation for short phrases has driven large sale volumes in “.eth” names, as they are proponents for the Web3.0 future by the idea of a potential universal login for all things. Now, the popular crypto marketplace Blockchain.com has teamed up with one of the main providers of NFT domains ‘Unstoppable Domains’ to give all 83 million Blockchain.com wallet users a free .blockchain domain. Unlike ‘.eth’ ENS names, the .blockchain domain lives on the Polygon network with no minting or renewal fees, giving forever ownership. This is an active step toward a more accessible and connected future as NFT domains allow the process of sending and receiving crypto to be as easy as sending an email.
That's a wrap on our 10th edition, the team behind Morning NFTea is just getting started and we hope you will be here for the journey. Catch ya next time!
